Friday night was a hectic one, the transporter got finished, loaded, and we set off on the journey to Pembrey, only for a major delay on the A12 and sitting in stationary traffic for 3 hours. We finally arrived Sat morning and duly unloaded. The format of 3 races over the weekend is certainly something we are familiar with and race one saw a fifth position. Race two was better with a podium third position and a fastest lap of the race while the Final was a repeat of heat 2 with another podium in third position. All in all a great weekend as the team & driver continue to find their feet with certain improvements to come.

The team collected a new race transporter today so every effort will be made to give it it's first outing at the weekend when the Truck team will venture down to Pembrey race circuit.

The team ventured down to Andover at the weekend to Thruxton race circuit for what was our first 'circuit' meeting ever. While not entirely knowing what to expect we all enjoyed it emensely. Qualifying saw a mistake and has now earned the driver the nickname of 'Qualcast' but after this we managed to pick up the pace and had two good finishes and achieved the fastest lap in the 2nd race.

Well lady luck had to run out sometime and that's exactly what happened on Sunday afternoon in the 75 lap feature race of the weekend. After setting pole on the Saturday with an identical time to the one we set last year the whole team were extremely confident about our chances the following day. As is normal the early laps were about staying near the front and after bedding the car in just started to stretch our legs a little when a couple of backmarkers spun and I collected one of them causing damage and a retirement from the race. Chris Haird duly took over and held on to win. Myself and everyone at 'Team 41' would like to congratulate Chris and David on their achievement and it's nice to see proper genuine people coming out on top.

All the team have been busy the last couple of weeks, including Dave at Boss Engines to ready the Tigra for this coming weekends World Championships. We will be attempting to hold onto the title for the Fifth consecutive year. Just a few finishing touches remain. On Friday this week we will be attending BBC Radio Suffolk as a sofa guest on the Lesley Dolphin show to give listeners an insight into the racing.

All the 41 crew would like to wish Darren a Happy 40th!

Tha annual 'warm-up' for the July race took place at Foxhall raceway on Saturday with several visiting drivers from across the Irish sea & beyond making their way over. As the Tigra was in the worksops as a spaceframe the Mercedes SLK was dusted off & used. The first heat went ok but then rain ensued which made track conditions a little difficult. The final itself we went for a gamble with tyres which didn't pay off but the car came back undamaged albeit a little dirty!

A cracking day at Mallory Park yesterday saw the Pick-up team start their first races of the season, and duly went on to win the second of the three races. The first heat started well and when challenging for the lead found some green stuff! which resulted in a puncture and finishing a couple of laps down. The second heat (after some set-up changes) started well and we took the lead on lap 2 and manged to stay in front to the chequers. The Final race also started well but we slipped down the order a little but managed an eighth place. All in all a very good day (and previous evening!) and now we will ready the Pick-up for Thruxton in a few weeeks time.

Various set-up changes were put onto the Pick-up last night in readiness for (hopefully this time!) it's first races of the season having got no further than the practice session at Rockingham last time out. A steep lurning curve is expected as this will be the first time either driver or team have been 'circuit racing', roll on sunday.

The last qualifying round took place yesterday at Northampton raceway with approx 30 cars in attendance. The weather was good all day which was a bonus. We managed reasonable places in all races with the car coming home (for the first time in a while) with all four wheels pointing in the direction they started in! A group 1 finish was ideally required and that's what we finished with, Chris Haird had a good day and finished as the points champion (well done mate). Our attentions now turn to a complete rebuild of the Tigra in readiness for July's race. We are hoping to race at Foxhall on June 19th and will give the Mercedes another airing.

The first bank holiday in May had the Hot Rods at Hednesford hills raceway. Again an entry of around 40 cars present meant that scoring bagfulls of points from the back of the grid was going to be a tall order. The weather played havoc all day and every race was a tyre selection best chosen by the toss of a coin! Three finishes keeps us handily placed in the points standings.

The Pick-up team headed to Rockingham motor speedway for the 1st round of the Line X 2010 championship series and with free practice allowed were all looking forward to getting the newly rebuilt truck on the pace. Early running went well but 26 laps into the test session the engine blew and threw a con rod out causing an oil fire. The team then spent almost all the night fitting a spare engine only for that to last some 3 laps of qualifying! all in all a disasterous weekend, things can only get better!

Sunday saw the team journey down to Northampton raceway for round 9 of the 2010 qualifying series. A lot of cars assembled in the pit area with a few new drivers too. The weather was pretty good throughout the afternoon and all the races were contested in dry conditions. As is the norm we were starting last on the grid so to get through the traffic and make 2nd and 4th in our heats was good. 8th was as good as we could manage in the meeting final but all in all a good days racing and glad to bring the car home with only minor cosmetic damage. Must say thanks to the team for rebuilding the car over the winter.

The racetruck has had a clean and we have decided to attend Northampton raceway for round 9 of the qualifying series with the very sucessful Tigra. A large number of cars are booked in to race so we are hopeful of some good weather and some great racing.

After winter rebuilds and modifications to the two National Hot Rods, we tested both cars at Foxhall today. Both cars seemed ok and everything felt good, just one or two little jobs to carry out on the cars in readiness for the year ahead.
